It’s mid-February, so naturally everyone is thinking about Valentine’s Day. I can’t deny all the loved-up couples their chance to flaunt how much they adore each other. It’s the one day of the year where we can’t moan about soppy Instagram posts, so we must allow them their chance.

How much often do you show your gal pals how much you love them, though?

Galentine’s Day is the perfect time to remind them, and I think it’s just as important to celebrate this day as it’s more-prominent counterpart. Friendships are a massive impact on overall happiness. How can a women get through life’s trials and tribulations without the support of other girls to lean on and share in your successes and commiserate your failures? Friends are your support system, and Galentine’s is the perfect time to remember how important that is.

With this in mind, five of my best gals got together at my flat on Saturday night. We ate tonnes of sweets, ordered Dominos, watched Bridesmaids, shared our troubles, ate Lola’s cupcakes, and laughed a hell of a lot.

Here are some ideas for your own Galentine’s get together.

Fearless women have accepted life without boundaries for centuries, and it’s time for us to do the same. Here are ten reasons why you should travel the world (or a small section of it, at least) as a strong, independent woman in 2016.
