It’s mid-February, so naturally everyone is thinking about Valentine’s Day. I can’t deny all the loved-up couples their chance to flaunt how much they adore each other. It’s the one day of the year where we can’t moan about soppy Instagram posts, so we must allow them their chance.
How much often do you show your gal pals how much you love them, though?
Galentine’s Day is the perfect time to remind them, and I think it’s just as important to celebrate this day as it’s more-prominent counterpart. Friendships are a massive impact on overall happiness. How can a women get through life’s trials and tribulations without the support of other girls to lean on and share in your successes and commiserate your failures? Friends are your support system, and Galentine’s is the perfect time to remember how important that is.
With this in mind, five of my best gals got together at my flat on Saturday night. We ate tonnes of sweets, ordered Dominos, watched Bridesmaids, shared our troubles, ate Lola’s cupcakes, and laughed a hell of a lot.
Here are some ideas for your own Galentine’s get together.
This week my schedule has not been too busy, and I have been rather lazy. I know, I know, this is incredibly unlike me, but I’ve decided to cut myself some slack this week. If I wanted to spend the whole evening watching Disney YouTube videos, I would spend the whole evening watching Disney YouTube videos. It was one of those weeks!
Don’t forget to share how your week was in the comments, too. I’d love to find out!
During those moments where I wasn’t lounging around at home, I’ve been doing a few things here and there. I had Thursday off work to book our advance dining reservations for our trip to Walt Disney World in October. Yes, I did take a whole day off work to secure reservations six months in advance. My colleagues all thought I was a little crazy when I came into work the next day, but it is a very serious operation! You can read all about my stressful booking experience and find out which restaurants we’re going to go to in this week’s Disney dining blog. I managed to get some pretty awesome reservations.
The big apple. It’s a destination at the top of so many bucket lists, and for good reason. When I first stepped out of the yellow taxi and onto the streets of Manhatten I was instantly hit by how much it feels like New York. This is not a city that will let you down; all the stereotypes are true.
The taxis never stop honking their horns, the buildings are sky high in every direction, people hurry around everywhere, and hot dog carts grace every street corner.
There is so much to do in this gargantuan city that I will only be able to scrape the surface in this blog. I hope it gives you some ideas for when you visit and inspires you to book a trip soon. It really is a completely unique city.
