London musicals in the West End are getting more expensive and I am not happy about it. Prices have been creeping up slowly and steadily over the years, but the jump has increased lately and it isn’t coming back down. Do you remember a few years ago when people went crazy about the price of Elf tickets? The £240 premium seats made it the most expensive in West End history back in 2015, but now a seat costing £200 on a Friday or a Saturday night is the norm.
It’s true – I’ve finally seen Hamilton! After years of wanting to see this phenomenon musical on Broadway, I didn’t even have to travel out of my city to see the show. We booked tickets all the way back in January 2017, and after a lot of stress when our performance was cancelled and we were allocated new tickets, we finally got to see this show on Tuesday 19th December 2017 at the Victoria Palace Theatre. This was the penultimate preview before the show officially opened on Thursday 21st.

It’s December. Did you notice the arrival of the most talked about and eagerly awaited month of the year? The advent calendars have started, from the humble chocolate ones to those with £100 worth of beauty products behind each door. No matter how your December has started, there is no denying that the Christmas spirit will soon infect all of us. Personally, I cannot wait for all of the humbugs to start yelling The Pogues at the top of their lungs.
As well as drunken chanting, there is a lot that I’m looking forward to this month. Here’s a taste.
It’s weekly round-up time once again, and I can’t quite believe we’re in April already. It’s been another fun week, especially thanks to the fact it was only a four-day working week. If you wondered where the weekly round-up was last Sunday, I wrote a special weekend edition about my Easter weekend in Scotland.
So over the last five days I’ve got back into training for my 10k, had a tour around the Houses of Parliament for the first time, and become obsessed with the musical Hamilton. It’s been a bit of an emotional one! Read on to find out if I’m likely to survive running 10k on 7th May. There’s only just over a month to go, which is rather worrying.
