It’s now been a year since I got out my Canon G7x and vlogged our whole two-week Walt Disney World trip in October 2017. I felt pretty clueless back then. I didn’t know how much footage I was really filming or how to split between shots of what is happening and talking to the camera.
I like to think I’ve become slightly less clueless since then (which is a bit of a shame, as that first ever Disney vlog was my most viewed of all time – I kinda wish it was one I was more proud of). In fact, there’s a lot that I’ve learned through a year of vlogging.
I have exciting news!
If you follow me on twitter, you may have noticed that I’ve recently bought a Canon G7X and decided to give vlogging a go during my international travels. My good friends Rebecca and Beka vlogged some of our time working as Cast Members in Disney World and I love looking back at those videos. That, alongside some of my favourite Disney vloggers, inspired me to get vlogging. My trip to Rome seemed like the perfect chance to give it a go, and I’m fairly happy with the result.
I shot videos during all four of the days of our trip, and I’m going to edit and upload one per week for the next month. The first is ready for your viewing pleasure now, so read on to find it. I’d love to know what you think, so please do leave a comment.
I’ll also share my hints, tips and highlights on my blog to give you a realistic look at the city. If you’re planning a trip yourself, it should give you some inspiration as well.
Day one highlights:
- Flew from Heathrow to Rome with British Airways
- Checked into the Beverly Hills Hotel Rome
- Got lost in a creepy underground tunnel
- Joined a free walking tour, seeing the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and more
- Ate beautiful pizza and lasagna
