It’s been another crazy one.
Between a hectic week at work, packing for Florida, and a bit of a social life, I haven’t had a massive amount of time left over for blogging, but there always has to be time to squeeze in a weekly round-up.
This week I went to a fab pub quiz where points were awarded in accordance to how many members of the epic pop group Steps that you could name, rather than on your knowledge of ancient politics. Needless to say, we did slightly better than usual.
I also got colouring – Disney style – with an adorable mini book from Ladybird and then did a bit of offline writing for good measure. Between all that, I still found the time to bring you my three favourite blogs of the week. Read on to find out if you made the shortlist.
Welcome to the special bank holiday edition of the Faraway Lisa Mae weekly round-up! I know bank holidays are business as usual for a lot of people, but I’m one of those lucky office workers who get an extra day off work. May is going to be a pretty good month for me with two bank holiday weekends as well as my long birthday weekend back at home.
I managed to make the most of the high temperatures this weekend by going for lots of canal-side walks and chilling in parks. I spent the whole weekend at a friend’s apartment in Hertfordshire, which is a 30 minute train away from central London. A big group of us squeezed into their two-bedroom apartment for a murder mystery party. It was the first time I’d been invited to a murder mystery, so read on to find out what I thought and find out about the surprisingly cheap game we played.
It’s the weekend again, so of course that means it’s time for another round-up! This weekend I’ve headed back up to the Midlands for a relaxing weekend at home. I’ll be doing lots of cuddling my dog, watching rubbish TV and spending time with family. Blissful.
This week I’ve done lots of touristy London things. I’ve got some fun recommendations for when you next have some free time in the city.
When I haven’t been exploring, I’ve been running. If you see a girl in a bright pink running top huffing and puffing around Hyde Park, there’s a high chance that it’s me. I’m in training for a 10k run and it’s killing me slowly.

Last Sunday was so much fun. My favourite kinds of weekends are the way when I have time to laze around by myself and then meet friends for an adventure, and that is exactly what happened on Sunday. I got to have a very leisurely morning, then joined Jaye in the queue to get tickets for ‘Tonight at the Palladium’. We also ate out, had lots of wine, and spent the rest of the day enjoying various musical performances.
Speaking of musicals, my sister and mum have come down to London to visit this weekend. We saw Phantom of the Opera for the first time and booked spontaneous tickets to see In The Heights on Saturday night.
Plus, I’ve got another great London burger joint to tell you about. Yes, I do realise that burgers are pretty much the only things that I eat, but I’ve got no regrets. If you want to follow in my footsteps, read on.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve realised that there isn’t a whole lot about me on my blog. Yes, you know all about where I’ve been on my travels, the places I’ve enjoyed, the ones I didn’t, and just how much I love Disney. But you don’t really know what makes me tick, and what I’m up to when I’m not jetting off to far off places. I think it’s time to change that, don’t you?
I’m going to try out a weekly round-up of my life, my favourite blogs of the week, and what’s going on. I’d love to hear your feedback, so please do leave a comment.
Without further ado, this was my week.
