I am often surprised by the amount of bloggers who have friends and family that aren’t aware of the very time-consuming hobby that they have. It can seem strange to keep it a secret, but in reality, the opportunity to talk about blogging rarely comes up in conversation. On the other hand, family and friends can be the biggest support and encouragement when it comes to blogging.
So what should you do? Is there one clear answer? Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of telling people about your blog.
Personally, I have told all of my close friends and family that I blog. It definitely makes it easier to explain what I’m doing when I’m tapping away at the keyboard and talking to a camera in the evening!
I can’t quite believe that Faraway Lisa Mae has existed for an entire year. It’s been over 365 days since I sat at home, bored on a week off work, and decided that I needed a new outlet for my thoughts and for my writing.
This isn’t the first blog that I made, but it has been the most successful by a country mile. Around 115 blog posts and 28,000 page views later, and Faraway Lisa Mae is still going strong. It may not be the same as it was when it started out, but that’s all worked out for the best. This blog has evolved as I have. I hope it continues to do so long, long into the future.
Here’s to the next 12 months.
First, though, it’s time to take a look back at some of the lessons that I’ve learned. Some may be relevant to you, others won’t be, but I hope you can take something useful from it.
