How did this come around so quickly? It’s already my last day in Disneyland Paris! One of the best things about these theme parks is that they’re so close to home, so we got to stay in the pars until mid afternoon, and I was still home in London by early evening. It’s so much easier than travelling from Florida!
We got to do lots of our favourite things over again today. Highlights included a creepy/hilarious meet with Jafar, the castle show with all the characters, and some classic rides – including Dumbo. I always feel like I could skip this ride, but it’s always so lovely and peaceful.
We also went on the train station and had a very sedate journey around the park, which was just what we needed to end a long week. Sabrina and I left the park early in search of delicious food in the Disney Village, and we definitely found it with Vapiano. I’ll be back for more pizza, pasta and bruschetta next time I’m in Disneyland Paris. To top if off, I had the most expensive ice cream ever from the cinema, but it was so worth it. The perfect end to the trip.
Top tip: storing our bags in the train station worked out really well. It meant that we didn’t have to go back to our hotel in the afternoon, and we could go straight to pick them up before jumping on the train.
Overall, I had a fantastic time on my first proper holiday to Disneyland Paris. Most of all, I couldn’t believe that I can get a taste of Disney so close to home. It has definitely picked up since I visited for the day in 2011. The 25th anniversary shows and parades were a definite highlight. I really hope that I can visit again while all their celebrations are in full swing.
Thank you so much for watching my Disneyland Paris vlogs. I hope you enjoyed them all.
Time for another pair of Disneyland Paris vlogs! We are already on to day three of the five-day trip, so it’s going along quickly. In day three, we wait for hours to meet Minnie Mouse in her special 25th anniversary outfit. Was it worth it? Just about!
We also went on some rides, did more character hunting, and saw the new castle stage show. This one features all the main characters, as well as some more rare ones. The highlights are definitely the enthusiastic dancers with their crazy hats to represent the different lands in the park. It is too much fun.
This was followed by a few more rides, and Daisy Duck popped up randomly, accompanied by Sleeping Beauty and her prince. It was really fun to meet them so unexpectedly without having to wait in line for very long. The secret characters come out of a few doors throughout the park, and we found them near the Casey Jr train ride. Unless you knew to look down there, you definitely wouldn’t happen upon them so it’s a good tip to remember.
In the afternoon, we went on one of my favourite rides – Big Thunder Mountain. Another character highlight was meeting a very intimidating Darth Vader, who I had never met before.
We had a chilled evening going on the rides in Fantasyland, then had a great moment watching the Princess show in front of the castle while munching on Disney popcorn. Yum! Next, we headed to the New York hotel for some cocktails before heading back to the hotel after another hugely successful – and very tiring – day.
Finding the perfect lunchtime meal can be tricky when you work in an office. I prefer something that’s good value for money, fast, and, above all, tasty. With London lunches regularly costing upwards of £6 for a basic meal, finding something affordable is key.
So when Greggs* contacted me with a way to broaden my lunch horizons, I couldn’t wait to get started. The lovely people at the nation’s favourite bakery sent me five gift cards so I could try their new range of salads and juices, plus compare them to their competition. It’s a bold way to try to prove their food is best. To make it fair, I was asked to choose similar types of meals in each location, and I tried my best… though some went better than others! So let’s put it to the test and see which popular chain comes out on top. Will it be Starbucks, Pret, M&S, Boots, or Greggs?
Oh, to be a student. Long deadlines, two lectures a week and freedom to plan your own time. I didn’t realise how good I’d got it when I was studying in Sheffield. Now that I’ve entered the world of work, with a 40-hour contract and a 45 minute commute, I dream of those lazy days. To try and relive the glory, I went back to my university city for the weekend with the girls that I lived with for all three of my years in the city. It was fleeting, but we had a lot of fun.
Rather aptly, we spent most of the time in my friend’s bedroom watching TV. Does it get more university-style than that?
When we were convinced to leave the comfort of her house, we headed to some of our favourite haunts.
