The main thing that puts people off booking a cruise is the fear of being sea sick. It’s a tough decision to make, as you don’t know how you will react until you actually get on the boat. As someone who can feel queasy in the back of a car, I have taken a few steps and I am fine with sea sickness, even on rough seas.
Here are my tips to make sure you don’t get sea sick, and advice for which type of cruise you should pick if you’re worried.
We’ve all done a bit of splurging in our lives. Booked that holiday when you were already looking forward to another one. Bought the shoes that you were dreaming about for weeks. Or finally decided to buy those headphones, even though your others work perfectly fine.
Today, I did that, though it was a bit more extreme.
What is the most expensive thing that you’ve ever purchased? If you’re lucky, it might be a house, or maybe a car.
For me, it is a MacBook Pro and I could have collapsed on the floor when I put my PIN number in the card reader, seeing that the little screen read a figure that was well over £1,000. It was more expensive that the only car I have ever owned. Yes, this little thing that my fingers are clattering away on to write this is my most expensive purchase to date.
Do I regret it?
Social media can be a dark place. Between the hilarious tweets and the adorable animals, there’s a perception that other people are out there living their best lives 24/7, while I’m sat scrolling through an app on my own in my PJs on a Friday night.
It’s true that no-one can be out having fun all the time, and I think we all know that. We all know how staged an Instagram photo can be. It doesn’t make it any easier to stop comparing yourself, though. This is something that I’ve been getting bogged down in lately. My followers haven’t been going up like they used to. My vlogs aren’t getting as many views as quickly.
Does any of that matter? No. Do I blog and vlog and social network for anything other than fun? No. So why do I get hung up on it?
I used to do a little thing called a Weekly Round-up on my blog every Sunday, where I’d tell you what I’d been up to that week and basically let you snoop on my life. My life has become busier since then, which has meant that I don’t always have time to find photos and write up my highlights to share. Now I feel a bit out of touch with you all, so I’m going to bring it back. Hopefully it won’t be for one week only!
Disney Channel kindly invited me to their launch event for new show, Andi Mack, in late August. I was so happy to go along, especially when I heard that crafts were involved. The thing that particularly caught my attention was that this new show is by the creators of Lizzie McGuire, which was one of my favourite programmes growing up. Who didn’t love the Lizzie McGuire movie? And I am very pleased to say that Andi Mack has the same heart and fun plot as this classic.
Watch the vlog to find out more about what the event was like and what I think of Disney Channel’s newest show.
