Finding the perfect outfit for exploring a new city while travelling is always a struggle. I always look for something that will be comfortable, but is also more interesting than a standard t-shirt or tank top with a trusty pair of shorts. It’s so great to be able to look at a piece of clothing and have it remind you of a specific time and place, and that is exactly what I did in Rome this year.
We stopped off at a port near Rome on my Disney Cruise and had a full excursion planned that was due to take 10 hours. Clearly I needed something comfy, breathable, and that was also going to make my photos fun.
I needed that elusive thing: a nice top.
Why is it always so hard to find a good top to go effortlessly with jeans or, in this case, my favourite pair of high-waisted shorts and comfy converse? Thankfully I had picked up this blouse with a fun leaf print from Everything5Pounds.com. As you can guess from the name, it only cost £5 as well! It was tough to iron – I ended up getting the ship laundry service to get out the travel creases – but it was so fun to wear. You might be able to tell from the photos that it had wide arms that felt a bit like wings, especially with the Roman breezes.
I had a lot of fun wearing this shirt and it will always remind me of my day in Rome now.
What are some of your favourite travel outfits? How do you put them together? Are you a planner, or do you put everything in your suitcase and hope for the best?
