I’ve got some exciting news to share about my next holiday – and it’s a big one! In 2017, I’ve already been to Disneyland Paris twice, making the most of my annual pass, and now it’s time to venture slightly further afield. Still keeping with the Disney theme, I’m going on a Disney Cruise around the Mediterranean, departing from Barcelona, Spain, and with cruise stops in Italy and France. I could not be more excited, and this is why.
Back in 2008, I went on my first Disney Cruise with my family. It was a three-night trip around the Bahamas to try it out and see if we liked it. Looking back, it was just as much about finding out about cruising as it was making sure none of us were seasick! Needless to say, we loved it, and we booked a longer seven-night cruise around the Caribbean for two years later in 2010.
We properly got into the swing of cruising with Disney on this trip, but I haven’t been back on a ship since. That’s seven whole years without Disney Cruise Line. But that is about to change.
Of course I will be bringing you daily vlogs from the trip, from our arrival and exploring Barcelona to the best bits of the Disney Magic, the ship we will be travelling on.
So why do I love Disney Cruise Line so much?
First of all, the food is unlimited, 24/7. Really. Feeling like a bit peckish before bed, after you’ve eaten that three-course meal for dinner? Order free room service at any time of day. During waking hours, there are always multiple options and the buffet rarely closes. It’s not average cruise ship fare, either. Top Disney chefs are behind the scenes creating mouthwatering dishes around the clock.
As a big musical theatre fan, I’m excited for the nightly stage shows. They have West End-style shows most evenings, and they’re all Disney themed, of course.
The service is amazing. Disney Cast Members are known around the world for giving service that is above and beyond, and they’re particularly great on the cruise line. Everyone has the same servers in the main restaurants each night – they rotate around with you – so you can get to know them, and they get to know your likes and dislikes. They even memorise your favourite drinks so they’re ready and waiting for you when you come into the dining room.

I can’t wait to share the experience with you! Have you been on a cruise before? Where would you most like to cruise to?
